Automaton Art with Wood, Gears, pulley wheels  & Chains
A kindly Automata / Automaton Blog reader made me aware of an automaton artist named Steve Armstrong.

Armstrong is represented by the John Pence Gallery in San Francisco.

From their site:
His work is most unusual for the big city in many ways - Armstrong is a Kentucky native known for his "Automata" sculpture. Every piece has moveable parts, hand-carved from various woods and vividly painted. He deftly uses gears, pulleys, chains and the viewer's energy to make his sculptures move. They stand tall, they whirl and spin, and they open to reveal an amazing sense of humor.

I'm pleased with my order Pulley wheels but it did get tangled due to loose packaging and Pulley wheels took me a while to get it working.Once the chains Pulley wheels get twisted and loose within the gears it's hard to work it straight again.Once working it does a great job for the money.

Pulley chian Replacement  with Amazon

I took a chance and ordered this part from Amazon. The pulley chain price was lower than the company I bought the mower from (plus they did not have the part and couldn't say how long it would be before they would get it in). I chose the basic pulley chain shipping rate and figuired it would be 7-10 days before I would even see this part, but to my surprise I received the part 2 days after I ordered it. The part came in excellent condition and the pulley chain fit perfectly. The mower actually seems to run better than the original part that was factory installed. I would recommend this dealer with Amazon. They were quick pulley chainand the parts description was accurate. I will be ordering other pulley chain items for my mower through this dealer in the future.
